Sword Modeling

To get a better understanding of the sword of my character I have decided to create a 3D version.
I've started from creating a plane shaped just like the sketch used and seen below and above; I have continued with the basic forms.

Final touches on the Wanderer

On the final concept piece I have added the equipment

Next step will be explaining how everything is combined together in a model sheet in order to be able to represent the concept into a 3D representation

More Variations + final look of the Character Concept

Here is the updated version of my last post of 4 variations. This time I have combined some of the elements from every version into one single character ( the one on the far right ).

ZBrush Session

Here's a 3D model that I've created in the lesson during today:
This is a good way of practicing new techniques and shaping up objects and creatures which can be used in different contexts such as painting over in 2D programs:

4 Character Concept Variations

Here are 4 different ideas/variations for my character concept. The following step will be finding the final version of The Wanderer (my character) in order to create the model sheet and then the final rendering.
The ideas and key words so far are:

Character with supernatural powers. Resource of power : Gem
Gem is found in a temple.
12 steps of the Hero's Journey/Awakening/Rediscovering the self

split in half sword:

magical cloak/camouflage/shape changing cloak through particle effect/shadow/smoke

gem(source of power). The gem lays on the sword which allows the sword to split in half.

Group Project: Illustrating ideas for the Start Menu

Concerning the Start Menu of the Viking Game, I have created a simplistic looking menu which hopefully will go along with the minimal style of the actual game called: The Legend of Bard.
1st version of the menu has got the necessary elements which depict the story of the game.
The sea represents the starting point of the game and the mountains represent the transcension towards the fight with the giant demigod which is found far into the mountains.
2nd and 3rd version are only improvements to the 1st version.
This 3rd version has got more of a theme connected typo: Norse style.
Also, for the next step into making the start menu more attractive and have more of an atmosphere such as viking boats that sail along the background sea or snow weather effect.

The Viking Game Project

So far, our 2D platform game looks like this:

At this stage the game has got basic shapes in order to simplify and speed up the process of getting past the coding part of achieving the complete game.
The character has animations included such as dashing and jumping.
Also, as seen in the images, blue blocks are non harmful objects that don't deal damage except those who automatically fall when landing on them; red block cause death/game over.
Regarding AI, there is a primitive sphere shape which shall represent an enemy that follows the character. The character/player has got 3 hit point meaning that if the enemy hits you thrice that will cause death/ game over also.
